In this four week long flexible course, fractions for beginners, students will be introduced to fraction basics. They will learn the parts of a fraction, visual representations, addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators, simplifying fractions, and finding equivalent fractions. They will use multiplication and division to find equivalent fractions.Week 3Lesson 3Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Like DenominatorsIn this lesson, students will learn the steps to take when adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators.Week 4Lesson 4Simplifying FractionsIn this lesson, students will learn all about how to reduce fractions to their simplest form using the greatest common factor.
Homework Offered
Each week, students will be provided with worksheet pages, links to games that allow them to practice their skills, and will have various challenges/at home activities to try. The Nearpod lessons also contain word problems, practice questions, and open ended questions about the concepts. The teacher will provide feedback for each completed Nearpod lesson or assignment posted.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
