Class Experience

Learners will engage in various business discussions to include goal setting, color psychology, branding, marking, mission, vision, economics, leadership, ethics, social responsibility, human resources, and more. Assignments will reinforce discussions and culminate in a final project. Discussions are delivered using slides, handouts, and dynamic brainstorming and problem solving. We will examine successful businesses and explore participants interests and so they can discover areas to pursue for the project. 
This course focuses on the development of skills and experiences to engage the student in observing and understanding business and entrepreneurship while developing skills and building confidence for their future in business.


First Class: Leadership, Interest inventory, and Planning
Second Class: Marketing, Branding, Color Psychology, Mission, Vision and a look at Coke, Amazon, and Netflix
Third Class: Human Resources, Economics and Goal setting
Forth Class: Ethics and Social Responsibility 
Ongoing: Create your own business project

Parental Guidance
Discussions will include brainstorming, goal setting, planning, marking, economics, leadership, human resources, and more. Students may provide free-thought type responses-if at all questionable, they will be addresses appropriately. Students are great-not foreseeing any issues.
Supply List
The ability to take notes weekly. A project will be assigned with detailed directions-this will be done on Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint or Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides-slight modifications can be discussed.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA.  I also hold a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses. Furthermore, I have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center. I currently work as a program manager and recruiter where these business practices are at work every day.
