Class Experience

NOTE: We will not be covering how to setup a YouTube account. I will assume that everyone already has an account.

In this camp we will learn about YouTube from the early stages to the late stages of video creation and uploading to YouTube. Students will get creative freedom to design what they want after seeing my examples and explanations. After the first day of class students will be asked to record a video (nothing fancy), which they can use to practice on for the following days. If they choose not to then I can provide them with a video they can use.

DAY 1 - YouTube Basics & Safety
Overview: We will talk about YouTube channels and what makes them good/successful, niches & brainstorming, YouTube Safety, and we will be touching upon branding by creating a YouTube banner.

DAY 2 - Branding & Copyright
Overview: We will learn about logos and branding ourselves as well as what Copyright is and why it's very important for YouTube and where to find free images and music for our videos.

DAY 3 - iMovie Video Editing & Green Screen Effects
Overview: We will learn how to use iMovie to edit our videos and how to design green screen effects such as your channel name to add to your videos, or subscribe buttons for your videos.

DAY 4 - Thumbnails, Video Upload, YouTube Studio, & More
Overview: We will go over how to design video thumbnails and make them pop, which is one of the most important aspects to attract viewers, and some very useful information when uploading videos that will target your videos to the right audience in an effective way. I will also explain the different sections of YouTube Studio and the settings they need for their channels to make their life's easier.
