Class Experience

In this multi-day class we will learn new vocabulary words each week and use a Cornell note-taking method to organize and simplify note-taking. Students will learn more about the body parts used and the functions of the respiratory system.
This class can be categorized as science and health for homeschool records or data tracking purposes.

Some of the vocabulary and concepts we will discuss:
airway, lungs, muscles of respiration, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, and larynx.

Day 1: Students will receive an overview and instructions on how we will organize our notes in each class. We will write key vocabulary words, read, learn more, and students can complete their definitions in class. After class, students will write 2-3 sentences to summarize what they learned for the day.
Materials: Note sheet, clay/ Play-doh, writing utensil

Day 2: Students will engage in interactive activities, set up their notes, and take notes during the class. After class, students will write 2-3 sentences to summarize what they learned for the day.
Materials: Note sheet, clay/ Play-doh, tinfoil, writing utensil

Day 3: Students will engage in interactive activities, set up their notes, and take notes during the class. After class, students will write 2-3 sentences to summarize what they learned for the day. We will also review previously learned vocabulary and concepts.
Materials: Note sheet, blank paper, 3 different colored markers or colored pencils, clay/ Play-doh, sponge (cut in half or they can cut it in class if they have scissors)

Day 4- Presentations, game to review all materials we have learned.

My teaching style is fun, engaging, and student-centered. I enjoy adding animations, pictures, audio, videos and tangible examples for students to remain engaged. I encourage and promote class discussion (both verbally and in the chat box features)

Supply List
Prior to class beginning I will send a note-sheet for students to use. If they do not have a printer, they can use a piece of paper and follow along. Either way is absolutely fine! If students choose not to take notes, that is fine as well. The notes can help guide them for their final projects.
