In this class, I will teach you step by step to hold the violin in rest position, plucking position (guitar style), and playing position. We will go over stance (how you hold your body) and emphasize the importance of good posture. There is no previous experience or knowledge required, however taking my class on the parts of the violin is suggested. This way the student will be more familiar with the terminology. Students will need a violin. A shoulder rest or sponge is highly recommended as it gives the student more support and helps them easily get into position but is not required.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
