In this course students will learn the basics of violin playing, exploring musical tunes and pieces along the way.

Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level

Basics of how to hold and take care of the violin and bow will be taught, in addition to parts of the instruments and other basics of playing. We will also learn some songs and fun rhythmic variations on them. A violin with a bow, rosin, cleaning cloth and shoulder rest is required. Having short fingernails is also important when playing a bowed string instrument. It is helpful to have a parent present during lessons to support their child and know how to help their children during the week....

Practicing at least 5x a week will help students to progress with their lessons. This might start out with 15 minutes a session and could later progress to over an hour.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
