During this class, students will learn how to draw faces. They will learn how to draw portraits of themselves and others and will receive an in depth study of how to draw facial structures, facial expressions and many other lessons.

Class Experience

During this class, students will learn how to draw faces. They will learn how to draw portraits of themselves and others and will receive an in depth study of how to draw facial structures, facial expressions and many other lessons. As they go through the fundamentals of drawing faces, each student will be able to notice the unique formation and details of each face which will allow them to capture the likeness of whoever they want to draw. 

This class will be fun and interactive. The instructor is fun and encouraging and has incredible skill for helping young artists master the basics of drawing. 

Curriculum 
Week 1: Introduction
-	Introducing myself, artist and going over my art history.
-	Getting to know the students and information about them.
-	Going over the history of drawing faces/ portraits
-	Going over what the class is about and what we're going to do.

Week 2: face shapes
-	Students will go over how shapes play a significant role when drawing faces.
-	Students will begin to think about different kinds of shapes that make up faces.

Week 3: facial expressions 
-	Students will go over the fundamentals of drawing facial expressions.
-	Students will begin to think about different kinds of shapes that make up faces.

Week 4: Drawing a self portraits
-	Students will be able to draw their own faces. 

Week 5: Drawing someone else
-	Students will be able to draw another person's face such as a friend, family member or a celebrity.

Week 6: Presentation
-	Students can continue to draw and will be able to present their drawings.


The instructor is a professional artist and teacher: Darrell Andrews Jr. is a graduate of Ringling College of Art & Design, one of the nation’s most prestigious art schools. He is a freelance illustrator who has done an array of creative projects, including children’s books and cartoon development. He is well versed in traditional hand-drawn art, photoshop, figure drawing, traditional painting, concept art and general illustration. He had illustrated children’s books and created cartoon characters. He is a soft-spoken artist-teacher who enjoys working with children. He has designed a line of clothing—Trailblazers, which features his  original designs.
