In this class students are invited to get advice on the best and most economical ways to self-publish a quality book. The self-publishing process will be explained in an easy step-by-step process. Economical publishing options such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Lulu, etc. will be discussed. Marketing suggestions will also be given. More importantly, students can ask questions no matter where they are in the self-publishing process from idea to finished book. The first portion of the class (20 minutes) will review the self-publishing process and presents the process, including explaining the difference between traditional publishing and self-publishing. The self-publishing process will be presented in a clear easy way such that students will be able to act on what they learn immediately. Copyright, formatting books, cover design, editing and royalty payment will be some key areas students will receive guidance in this class. The second portion of the class (40 minutes) will answer questions students have about how to proceed with self-publishing. Parents and students are encouraged to post their publishing questions on the class wall after registering for the class.

Students will learn how to easily and efficiently self-publish their fiction, nonfiction, poetry and children books.

Teacher expertise and credentials
The instructor is a prolific author who has assisted numerous young people with the self-publishing process. She is the CEO of an educational publisher 'Collegiate Learning". She also coaches adults in the writing process. When she isn't teaching she freelance writes fiction, nonfiction and poetry.
