The students will be assessed based only on participation. If the student tries to read with the emotion they have been given then they will be considered a participant.Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 4
In this fun and interactive class students will learn how to make their reading more lively with expression and emotion. We will discuss as a group different emotions and how to incorporate these into our reading. Examples will be demonstrated of reading sentences with various emotions. The students will then take turns and practice reading sentences using different assigned emotions and observe how the reading changes with each emotion. They will then apply their new skills to reading a short story with appropriate emotion. This class will be conducted in a warm friendly group discussion setting. Students should have a min. of second grade reading level.
Learning Goals
This class will help students improve and enhance their oral reading skills and build their self confidence in reading aloud.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
I believe I have a LOT to bring to the classroom and I’m EXCITED to begin on this journey in learning with you! I hope to see YOU in my classroom soon!
