US Grade Kindergarten - 3
This course will be set up as a workshop. Students will bring their own pencils, pens, paper, crayons, and imaginations to sit together as a group to write and draw something creative that includes rabbits. I will begin the session by introducing the students to some of my rabbits (for inspiration), and then I will help them brainstorm the type of work they want to complete: short story, poem, or even the start of an epic novel. We will discuss the elements of a story and how to use them in our stories/poems. Artwork can be included, if the student desires. The students will then have time to complete their writings and drawings, and we will use the last 10 minutes of the class to share our works (not mandatory).
Learning Goals
Writing is a process. It's important for kids to explore different kinds based on their interests. Writing in a group can be a fun way to feel camaraderie and enjoyment in the craft.Other Details
