This self-paced course will cover the High School Geometry Common Core Standards. This is a great opportunity for students to get additional help after school or for homeschooled students to get math instruction for the year. Part 1 of 2.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
This self-paced course will cover the High School Geometry Common Core Standards. The weekly topics can be found in the syllabus.

Students who are already taking High School Geometry can enroll for additional support and practice. Homeschooled students can enroll in a complete High School Geometry course. 

The suggested weekly schedule will include the following:
Monday: Lessons with video exposure and instruction of the concept are posted. Students will be given an assignment to complete by Friday.
Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday: Students will work on their lessons and assignments on their own. They can message me for additional assistance during this time.
Friday: Optional resources will be provided to students who want extra practice with the concept. Students will be provided with individual feedback on their homework and assignments within 5 days of submitting it.

Daily Lessons Include:
Entry Ticket: Students will work on prior learned concepts while students are joining.
Lesson: Students will participate in the interactive math lesson.
Exit Ticket: Students will complete an exit ticket to show their understanding of the lesson.
Homework: Students will be given a homework assignment to practice the new skill. 

These math lessons will integrate real-world and engaging topics. Students will be using Nearpod, an interactive platform throughout the lessons. Students will be provided with several different options for homework every week which include visual, real world and concrete assignments.

Unit 1: Basics of Geometry
Lesson 1:
Points, Lines, Planes, and Segments
 - Name points, lines, segments, and planes.
- Sketch intersections of lines and planes.

Lesson 2:
Using Midpoint and Distance Formulas
 - Find segment lengths using midpoints and segment bisectors.
- Use the Midpoint Formula.
- Use the Distance Formula. 
1 assignment
Lesson 3:
Perimeter and Area in the Coordinate Plane
 - Classify polygons.
- Find perimeters and areas of polygons in the coordinate plane. 
1 assignment
Lesson 4:
Describing Pairs of Angles
 - Identify complementary and supplementary angles.
- Identify linear pairs and vertical angles.
- Find angle measures in diagrams. 
2 assignments
