We will be sharing our heritage by making our own heritage people, along with making a yummy Greek cookie treat called, Koulourakia!
Class experience
US Grade 7 - 10
In this two day class, students will develop continued social skills while sharing their heritage and customs with the class. On the first day of class, your child will have the center stage as they share their unique heritage by designing their own heritage person (template provided) in class. They can share whatever makes their person unique to where they are from. For example: Where does their person live? What foods does their person eat? What special customs does their person have?...
Students will learn social skills, social studies information on the country they are from, and life skills while baking.
Your child will be the center stage in class on day one as they share their heritage dolls. I will not be giving any instruction on day one. On day two, I will be instructing and guiding in the kitchen as we bake Koulourakia together.
I will be providing a doll template and complete recipe list for the Koulourakia cookies ingredients upon sign up for my class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental guidance is suggested in the kitchen on the second day of our class We will be melting butter on the stovetop, grating, and baking in the oven. Please note that we will be using sesame seeds, and dairy (milk, eggs, and butter) in this recipe, if any students have allergies to these.
Doll template and recipe ingredients for Koulourakia will be emailed prior to class.
