In the Kitchen with Kaitlyn - Bake a Dessert for Younger Bakers

Every week, we will be baking a Holiday themed dessert. Students will practice safety, have fun, bake a delicious treat, and maybe get their hands a little dirty. Some upcoming recipes include Valentines Day themed for February.

Class Experience

In this class, students will learn how to make a new dessert each week. See below for what yummy dessert we are making each week this month. These desserts are a delicious treat for the upcoming holidays or anytime.

During class, I will provide a step-by-step process from beginning to end. We will learn how to measure ingredients and what order to mix them together. This provides both science and math skills that are important not only in daily life but also in the kitchen. We will practice using an oven and other kitchen utensils to become an all around baker!

Some recipes take longer to bake than the hour set for class. We will simply get it in the oven or to a stopping point and I will let students know any further instructions needed.

If baker is more advanced and would like to bake on their own without me, please let me know and I can simply send the instructions for them to bake during the class while I just oversee.

Each months recipes will be added by the first week of the month before. Ex: February will be added no later than week 1 of January.

I love cooking and baking! I have been doing both for over 15 years. I started out helping my mom and dad make meals. My sister and I used to have cooking shows and pretended to have our own restaurant. Currently, I am a mom of 2 boys and am always making something in the kitchen. Like all kids, they go through picky stages and I have to get creative. I love experimenting with new recipes and baked goods. I have a lifestyle blog where I occasionally release recipes, as well.
