Help the Turkey Escape! a Course on Sequence Writing

First, students will be introduced to sequencing through the book, "Run, Turkey, Run!" We will ask questions and identify what happens first, next, then and last in the story. 

Next, students will then be guided to fill out a brainstorming sheet, where they can quickly sketch and/or write words that will inspire sentences about how their turkey will escape. 

Then, students will write four complete sentences using the words first, then, next and last; detailing their plan to help the turkey escape.

Last, students will be given a line drawing of a turkey and will be able to decorate and disguise their turkey using crayons or other household items they provide. 

This class will be a combination of demonstration and discussion. The student will show mastery of the subject through their writing sample.
