Class Experience

In this one-time fun and festive class, students will be on the move searching for Groundhog and winter/spring-themed items in our scavenger hunt. Once items have been found, students will return to share with their peers. I will be using Google Slides to present our Scavenger Hunt. Students will be instructed prior to the activity about the rules of our game. When an item appears on the screen, students will have a short time to go and locate this item and bring it back to our class. Students will be encouraged as they practice how to confidently speak in front of others while sharing their items.

Items included in the scavenger hunt: (depending on time, not all items might be asked to locate)
Something brown
Something representing the number 2
Something that rhymes with spring
Something that starts with Pe
Something you would wear if you were to hibernate
Something you would find in a library
Something representing the number 6
Something an herbivore would eat
Something furry
Something with a tail

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! My name is Danielle Miller and I'm currently a 6th-grade teacher in Orange County, California. I have 9 years of experience teaching across all content areas for 4th and 6th grade in a public school setting. Throughout my years as an educator, my passion for teaching has led me to work with students of all ages from kindergarten through middle school as a summer enrichment teacher with my school's summer enrichment program for the past four years.

As an educator, I've taught a diverse population of learners which has allowed me to really familiarize myself with K-8 grade-level standards. I firmly believe in meeting students right where they are and pushing them to their fullest potential.

In 2011, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Education, and in 2012 I received my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from Cal State University of Fullerton.

It is my truest passion to make learning come to LIFE! I love taking "boring" content and transforming it into a full-on learning experience for students. Infusing my creativity into lessons for my students + creating tangible and memorable learning experiences is what I believe fuels their passion for learning.

My classes will always be inclusive, engaging, and allow every student to cultivate their own learning experience and individuality! We will learn together, but most importantly we will HAVE FUN!

When I am not teaching, I love camping outdoors with my family, cozying up on the couch with a good book, and baking freshly baked cookies and brownies for family and friends. Oh… and did I forget to mention I am also a huge Disney lover!!!

I am excited to get to know your child and I hope our time together sparks their creativity and imagination!

I can’t wait to have fun and learn!
