Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 4
We will be teaching Grade 3 Math. The class may have worksheets and activities. We may use games, slides, video, images, manipulatives to teach the material. We will be using the interactive whiteboard on Zoom so students are encouraged to provide their share their responses using a mouse, in the chat box or using a drawing tablet. Previous Grade 2 Math experience or knowledge would be recommended because the curriculum moves quite fast. Tentative Schedule: (Note: progression of a lesson may vary depending on the needs and understanding of students) Week (June 11) Grade 3 Introduction of Multiplication covers: many times the same group, multiplication and addition Week (June 18) Multiplication covers: multiplying on a line, multiplication as an array, order of operation, word problems, multiplication table 2,4,10,5 Week (June 25) Multiplication covers: multiplication 6,11,9,7,8,12 Week (July 1) Telling Time covers: reading the clock, half and quarter hours, till and past, how many minutes pass, elapsed time, calendar Week (July 8) Place Value with Thousands covers: Four digit number and place value, which is greater, mental adding and subtracting, add four digit number with regrouping Week (July 15) Place Value with Thousands covers: Subtract four digit numbers with regrouping, estimating, word problems Week (July 22) Geometry covers: shapes, special quadrilaterals, perimeter, area Week (July 29) Geometry covers: area, area and perimeter, solids, word problems Week (August 5) Measuring covers: Measuring to the nearest fourth inch, centimeters and millimeters, line plots and more measuring Week (August 12) Measuring covers: Feet, yards, Miles, pounds, ounces, grams, and kilograms, cups, pints, quarts, gallons Week (August 19) Measuring and division covers: measuring word problem, division making groups, divide evenly into groups Week (August 26) Division covers: division and word problems Week (Sept 2) Division and Fractions covers: division and word problems Week (Sept 9) Fractions covers: Fractions on a number line, mixed numbers, equivalent fractions Please note: The topics will not cycle back to the beginning and new topics will be introduced in upcoming weeks in this order.

Parental Guidance
We will be using screen share during our class to do our math activities on the teacher's notes to do the math activities. On occasion, we We may use Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Forms in our class for in class activities. Student will not need to have a Google Account to use these activities.

I have over 17 years of teaching experience in classrooms and in one to one tutoring settings. I believe in lifelong learning. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Elementary with a Math and Science specialization. I also completed a Diploma in Early Years Education, Certificate in Kindergarten, Diploma in Special Education, and Certificate in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language). I have worked with student ages from Pre-K to Grade 12.
I believe every student can learn and each student may learn differently. My job as an educator is to teach students and provide them with new challenges that stimulate their own thinking and inspire them to enjoy learning.
