Class Experience

One-To-One math tutoring is made available for middle and high-school-aged students taught by a Senior Tutor at The Princeton Review and Tutor.com with 12 years of teaching experience in General Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra , Geometry, Trigonometry, Physics Chemistry, and Economics. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Fluid Analysis. I have vast experience working with over 10,000 students. I have received over 5,000 verified reviews and 2,000 student favorites. When your learner will join me, they will feel the energy, confidence, and motivation I will bring to their learning.

In this one-time class, students will get to choose the math topic(s) they would like to receive support on or learn more about. If we are solving specific math problems, I will walk students through the procedures step-by-step using the “I do, we do, You do” approach.

Bring your homework or questions on any math topic including basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, or geometry. You can also request that I build a lesson to tackle a particular topic. Your sessions with me are 100% catered around what you need, your pace, and your style.

These private sessions are meant to help your learners with their current math topics, topics of their choosing, or just grow their confidence in math. I like to review basic math facts as well to make sure the student has a solid foundation for upcoming units. If there isn't a particular topic needed, but you are wanting some general math review,

The student will have one on one access to a tutor for a 30-minute session to address the student's individual needs. Tutoring will consist of help with homework, worksheets, or any math lesson the student needs help with. Students may bring work to class or can be provided by the teacher.

How will students learn?

There will be several ways to interact with me in an online class. I use various approaches to captivate students’ interest.

-> Connect learning to the real world
-> Engage with your student's interests.
-> Use Collaboration
-> Give your students a say.
-> Get your students moving, and many more

How will they interact with me?

I will use the gradual release method of teaching: "I do, we do, you do" if it’s a new concept.
- First, I demonstrate how to do it (using several examples).
- Next, the students do some problems along with me.
- Finally, they complete some problems on their own that I will check for accuracy and give more guidance if needed.

If the concept is something that’s taught in class, we can use the examples provided in the classroom and follow the structure. This way, the learner will be more comfortable and can relate to the study materials taught in class.

How is class time structured?

The material taught in an online course follows a structure. Just like a traditional course, students start at the beginning of the education objectives and progress through the coursework. They move from the most introductory topics the class covers to the most advanced.

5 minutes- Teacher and student will familiarize themselves with each other as well as the concepts that will be covered.

30-35 minutes- The teacher will go over concepts with a strategy/story/example to create a deeper understanding of the concepts. If it’s any homework problem, we will use the approach which was taught in class rather than introducing any new style. This way, the student can relate to the material taught in class. (A problem can be solved in many ways, but the best approach is how the student is comfortable with)

20-25 minutes- Students will practice the strategy by working closely with the teacher while explaining the strategy back to the teacher.

5 minutes- Class wrap-up/assessment from the teacher.

What topics will be covered?

The topic will vary from student to student depending on the subject/topic at hand. It can be based on:
***Geometry ---> Measurement,Points, Lines, Angles, Planes, Proofs and Logic, Two- and Three- Dimensional Shapes

Each tutoring session will be tailored to your student's individualized needs. These tutoring sessions can be designed for enrichment, homework help or just to review concepts and will be geared to your student's specific learning style.

If you would like to set up a weekly or bi-weekly tutoring session please message me (with your time zone) and some times that work with your schedule.

Please note that there is no make-up session for any missed classes.

Learning Goals

Students will more fully understand whatever concept(s) we cover in math. They will learn useful tools to tackle similar problems outside of our sessions.

Not only that but they will also
-develop a mathematical growth mindset to gain confidence in mathematics
-increase mathematical fluency in the order of operations
-address mathematical misconceptions by developing a strong conceptual foundation.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been tutoring physics, chemistry, geometry, trigonometry, and algebra to high school students for the past 12 years, and this has helped me gain experience in tutoring. Over these years, I have developed tricks and methods to help students understand the lesson. I always make sure to understand the level of knowledge of the student on any particular topic and then explain thoroughly with examples and practice problems by which they gain insight into the subject matter. My key skills are teaching note-taking, studying, planning, organization, research methods, and other effective learning skills; helping students to set goals for themselves and motivating them to achieve those goals with praise and excellence; providing feedback on student performance; distributing informative study guides and other teaching materials.

I Love Tutoring because I like to help students and answer their problems. I really love the moment when they achieve an understanding of the concept and feel happy at the end. When students feel happy, I achieve my success through that.
