Students will more fully understand whatever concept(s) we cover in math. They will learn useful tools to tackle similar problems outside of our sessions. Not only that but they will also -develop a mathematical growth mindset to gain confidence in mathematics -increase mathematical fluency in the order of operations -address mathematical misconceptions by developing a strong conceptual foundation.
I have been tutoring physics, chemistry, geometry, trigonometry, and algebra to high school students for the past 12 years, and this has helped me gain experience in tutoring. Over these years, I have developed tricks and methods to help students understand the lesson. I always make sure to understand the level of knowledge of the student on any particular topic and then explain thoroughly with examples and practice problems by which they gain insight into the subject matter. My key skills are teaching note-taking, studying, planning, organization, research methods, and other effective learning skills; helping students to set goals for themselves and motivating them to achieve those goals with praise and excellence; providing feedback on student performance; distributing informative study guides and other teaching materials. I Love Tutoring because I like to help students and answer their problems. I really love the moment when they achieve an understanding of the concept and feel happy at the end. When students feel happy, I achieve my success through that.
Homework is not required for this class. However, extra practice will be shared with learners that can be used as "homework" if so desired.
Bring any math work you may need support on - your homework, a test you just took, sample tests, or just a few sheets of blank paper and your questions. Also, make sure to have pencil, pen, paper and calculator to reduce any time loss during the session.
An informal assessment and additional guidance will be provided at the end of the class.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Please keep in mind that this class will be age appropriate. I'm a senior educator at The Princeton Review and Tutor.com. I am aware of topics not to be discussed.
We will discuss the topic the student/parent shares before the class. Also, web resources will be shared to improve confidence.
