Welcome to Kindergarten! The goal of this class is to create a community of learners as we explore Kindergarten concepts together! This class is great for the homeschoolers and other learners looking for extra support on their learning adventure! The max class size is 4 offering great opportunites for personalized learning experiences for each child. Our class will have times every meeting assigned to learning, play, and being active. Our course will contain materials and lessons that are age appropriate, interesting, encourage self-exploration, creates a community of learners, and promotes mastering of desired areas. In this Kindergarten course students we will be covering many fun subjects and new adventures all while engaging, interacting, and exploring skills in fun ways! Some of the topic areas intertwined within our weekly meetings Include: Early Literacy Skills: The alphabet, phonics, sight words, word families, CVC, blending skills, writining, and early reading skills Math Skills: Numbers, patterns, shapes, number sense, and basic problem solving Other skills: Art, Music, Social Studies, Months, Seasons, STEM, Fine Motor Skills, and Social/Empotional Skills Lessons will be taught through games, songs, stories, and hands-on activites. Students will have continual interaction with each other and myself, as we explore together! Supply List
I provide worksheets and activities/games that match our lessons and customize papers for each student’s level and interest. If you would like to print them you will need access to a printer. I will be using handwriting without tears workbook to teach letter formation in Print. (Letters and Numbers for Me Student Workbook- Orange Book $14/Amazon) Parents may choose to purchase a workbook to follow along if they wish. Students are not required to complete any "papers". This is just as an additional resource and support for families.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi! My name is Jessica Benjamin, and I am looking forward to becoming part of your family as your child’s teacher. I have dual studies in elementary education and special education with a strong focus in early childhood education. I have worked with children for over 18 years. I am currently the owner of Arrows Learning Academy where I serve my community, local schools, and families with tutoring, Curriculum development and enhancement, and Distance Learning Education Enhancements and Solutions. My past experiences include Elementary Schools within my Local School District, Special Education, The YMCA childcare, Children’s Ministries, and being a Nanny. I also have run my own in-home day care and Pre-K program.
I like to have fun, help kids learn, and believe that every influence in a child's life affects who they will become. To me, the purpose of education is to excite life-long learning in every child. I believe that each moment in the day is a chance to learn something new. My goal as your teacher is to ignite a love of learning in everyday life and prepare a great foundation for the learning journey.
I strive to develop a stimulating curriculum that teaches children emotionally, physically, academically, and socially. I like to have children be active and enjoying learning. I plan to create experiences that contain materials and lessons that are age appropriate, interesting, encourage self-exploration, creates a community of learners, and promotes mastering of desired areas.
In my courses we will be covering many fun subjects and explore new adventures!

I will also offer extender courses that prior students and siblings may take to aid in their academic journey as they are going through K-12 and focuses on their individual needs.
I am married and mom of my treasured trio! I like playing games of all sorts. My favorite movies to watch and place to vacation is Disney! I love arts and crafts, music, and chocolate!
