US Grade 7
This course is designed to go through all of the 7th Grade Common Core Math Standards in a year. To make it easier on parents, I have divided the course into 5 sections. Three sections will take place starting August 31st to November 13th and the last two sections will take place from January 11th to March 19th. In this full year class, students will learn the following: Ratios and Proportional Relationships ---Analyze proportional relationships and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems. The Number System ---Apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers. Expressions and Equations ---Use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions. ---Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations. Geometry ---Draw, construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them. ---Solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, and volume. Statistics and Probability ---Use random sampling to draw inferences about a population. ---Draw informal comparative inferences about a population. ---Draw informal comparative inferences about two populations. ---Investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models. Here is the Tentative Schedule for section 5: Feb. 22- Stem and Leaf Plots 24- Histograms 26- Circle Graphs March 1- Samples and Population 3- Review & Quiz 5- Probability 8- Theoretical Probability 10- Experimental Probability 12- Independent Events 15- Dependent Events 17- Review & Quiz 19- Game of Kahoot to Review and Close Out Entire Year In each class, 1 sheet of homework will be assigned. We will review the homework the first 10-15 minutes of class with an open discussion. We will then move into the new topic where I will have a lecture over the new material. Students are welcome to ask questions throughout the lesson by raising their hand. Some classes will have games that we will play to reinforce what we have learned. There will be two quizzes--one on March 1st and the other on March 17th. I will grade these so that you can see the progress that your child is making.
Learning Goals
Students will investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models. Students will also use random sampling to draw inferences about a population.

Supply List
Paper & Pencil Printer to print off homework sheets.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
Some of the material I will be using comes from the "Big Ideas 7th Grade Math" book. I used this to teach in my B&M class. The majority of the material given to students will have been created by me.
