1 hour per week. Students will take assessment during the course , they will have enough practice during the course, so they don't need additional homework or assignments.Assessment
Assessing Learning : The primary goal of the assessment instrument is to thoroughly evaluate and ensure that students can competently read and comprehend a variety of book genres. This assessment will employ a criterion-referenced model, which means we will measure each student's performance based on established benchmarks and specific learning objectives tailored to different reading levels and genres. To achieve this, the assessment will encompass multiple components, including comprehension questions, vocabulary usage, and critical thinking exercises, all aligned with predefined standards. Each component will target essential skills such as inferencing, summarizing, and analyzing text structure, enabling educators to identify individual strengths and areas that require additional support.Grading

What will be taught? I have developed the course titled "From Characters to Themes: Comprehensive Reading Skills" utilizing the ADDIE design model and effective strategies acquired during my professional training as an Instructional Designer from UIUC. This course is focused on instructing guided reading and comprehension techniques aimed at enhancing the reading skills of elementary students and students who are seeking to improve/enrich their reading skills. What topics will you cover? 1. Knowledge and Comprehension 2. Application and Analysis 3. Higher-Order thinking How is your class structured? It will be a self-paced class, allowing students to complete the course at their own speed. However, I recommend that students aim to finish one reading strategy each day. This approach will help them retain the knowledge gained more effectively. How will you teach? I have created a course using a cloud-based platform where students can view and learn the content. I will share the link after students enroll. What is your teaching style? I have developed an instructional strategy for each lesson that focuses on teaching reading strategies. Each lesson will include elements such as the purpose of the reading, learning strategies, assessment, practice, summary, and conclusion. In total, there are seven reading strategies, each accompanied by its own instructional strategy with additional details. How much will students interact with you? Each lesson will include two video clips and short answer questions. I will provide feedback after reviewing the students' responses. "Empowering guidance from parents will undoubtedly inspire students to achieve their goals."
Learning Goals
Identify main characters: Students will be able to list the names of all major and minor characters in the story.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have successfully completed the Instructional Design Master Track certificate program from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Throughout this program, I gained in-depth knowledge of instructional strategies and course design principles. I have applied these insights to create engaging and effective learning experiences for students, ensuring that the content is both accessible and relevant. Furthermore, I have experience working with children in various elementary schools as a guest instructor.
