In this 5-part writing course, learners will develop the skills necessary to create chilling fiction stories in the genres of horror and thriller. We will begin by discussing the difference between horror and thriller and then we will focus on how to implement setting, character development, and plot to create impactful stories. This class will be structured in a lecture/exercise manner. I will start each class with teaching the learners about elements of both of the genres of writing, and...
Students will improve their horror and thriller writing skills through prompt-based writing, image-based writing, and free-thought writing.
Learners will be creating works of fiction individually through this course. There is no homework assigned other than for each learner to create their stories to the best of their abilities. This can mean that the learner only writes during class, or learners can work on their stories in between sections of class.
A mobile device for using Kahoot will be needed for this class. Other than that, there are no special requirements. Come with either a laptop or a sheet of paper for writing exercises.
