US Grade 5 - 8
In this Creative Writing camp each day learners will learn about one of the 5 parts of a story as well as a writing tip to improve their writing. We will cover a common storyline found in Science Fiction and Fantasy stories, which learners will use and change to create their own unique stories, and they will spend the majority of the class writing based on a writing prompt, which build on each other to make a completed story. Towards the end of class they will have the opportunity share with the class what they have written. At the end of the week they will have a completed story. In between classes learners can send what they have written to the teacher for feedback and editing. Day 1: Introduction: Who are the characters and where are they? Day 2: Problem or Conflict: What do the characters have to overcome? Day 3: Events: How do the characters try to solve the problem? Day 4: Solution: How do they solve the problem? Day 5: Ending: What happens to your characters now and how have they changed through the story? #creative

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a former Home School student who has never stopped learning! I love history and telling stories verbally and through writing, and I want to share that passion with others. I believe the statement is true: “Those who don’t learn from History are doomed to repeat it.” We need to learn from the past to shape our own futures and the world in general. I believe the best way to learn about history is to learn about the people who lived through it and what they experienced and tell their stories. I love telling stories through writing and enjoy public speaking, so storytelling is a natural combination of the two.
I have 4 years of teaching experience in a variety of places from teaching/coaching drama and dance for homeschoolers in a group setting, to homeschooling two young children for a few months, to teaching English as Second Language (ESL) to college students, to teaching Arts and Crafts at a Summer Camp. I am currently a ESL teacher online with VIPKid. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Communication from Stevenson University.
I love to travel both in the US and internationally. I’ve spent time in almost every state on the East Coast and driven through the rest. I’ve visited seven different countries and lived in Asia for 17 months.
