Private lesson for all levels of drummers/percussionists! We can work on whatever you like, let's chat about what kind of drummer you want to become... or we could just dive right into repetitions! Examples of what we might work on.. Rudimentary drumming, drumming culture, reading sheet music, proper grip/technique, learning to play a piece. I am also open to new ideas! Having a webcam that allows me to clearly see students' hands can also take us to a whole new level! Private lessons are the choice for ultimate freedom and feedback! Make sure to request a different time if none of the ones I have listed work for you!

Supply List
Pair of drumsticks! Vic Firth and Promark make quality sticks! You will also need a surface (any surface) to tap on. A drum pad is optional and will reduce noise and add an authentic drumhead feel. I am using an "HQ Realfeel" pad. Full electronic drumsets and acoustic drumsets are very welcome. Headphones or high-quality speakers are a must. We will also talk about what equipment might be helpful based on individual students' learning goals.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am a drummer currently working with two groups in the Seattle area and with 8 years of experience playing in a variety of settings including marching band, jazz band, concert band, show choir combo, and independent groups/ensembles. I have led drumming workshops with elementary school kids through Iowa State University. I also have experience teaching in other areas as a Teacher's assistant for CORE Design classes at Iowa State University and coaching high school boys soccer at Holy Family High School in Broomfield, Colorado.
