Homework
2-4 hours per week. Homework will be given weekly. I recommend at least 1-2 hrs of practice per week, but the more students put in, the more they get out!Assessment
No formal assessment unless requested. I can certainly provide feedback to parents and/or students on how things are going at any time.Class Experience
Private lesson for all levels of drummers/percussionists! We can work on whatever you like. I like to start by chatting about what kind of drummer you want to become. But, if you want to dive right into repetitions, I have no problems with that! Examples of what we might work on include: rudimentary drumming, drumming culture, reading sheet music, proper grip/technique, developing our ear, and learning to play a piece/song. I am also open to new ideas and am here to help with equipment as well. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you'd like to request a time that's not listed.

I’ve been teaching drums for over 3 years and playing them for more than 10! I teach all ages, all styles, all types of drums and percussion and I’m here to make learning drums as fun and rewarding for your learner as possible. I am a musician and small business owner in Seattle. So, I’m very active in my community providing drum lessons, designing space for musicians, and playing with local bands. When you sign up for lessons with me, you’re getting an active musician with real-world experience in a variety of musical and other settings. I also have experience teaching in other areas as a Teacher's assistant for CORE Design classes at Iowa State University (where I got my Bachelor's in Architecture from) and coaching high school boys soccer at Holy Family High School in Broomfield, Colorado.
