Homework
1 hour per week. Learners are encouraged to actively participate in viewing instructional videos, and class activities via weekly assigned YouTube links, provide Google sheets responses and review the provided reading materials prior to each class deadline. Learners should continue to practice and develop their aptitude for soft skills beyond the course.Class Experience
In this flexible schedule class, we will meet asynchronously via the virtual classroom for five weeks. The lesson will demonstrate 10 essential soft skills in a presentation format. Learner responses, along with an instructional video and outline will be posted every Tuesday and will be due by the following Monday. Learners are expected to use the classroom in order to interact with one another and receive feedback from the instructor. The instructor will be checking in periodically throughout each week in order to encourage learners and guide them through each assignment. We will navigate further into why these skill topics matter most in today's evolving world. The 10 skill topics we will discuss are; Character & Creativity, Communication, Teamwork, Critical Thinking, Leadership, Attitude & Mindset, Time Management, Appearance & Etiquette, Diversity & Inclusion, and Service Excellence. Learning Goals
Learners will develop their knowledge and demonstrate their understanding of 10 soft skills topics. Learners will be introduced to practices and theories of soft skills training throughout the course by analyzing data, responding to open-ended questions, applying their understanding by participating in activities, and learner-led discussion board posts. Learners will complete a resume drafting project prior to the final class meeting.
