Part 2 of 4 This is the second 4 week section of a 4 part course. If you have not taken part 1, please look through our class listings page and start at the beginning to enjoy the full course. In this course, the student will learn the basics of financial literacy and wealth building, with a focus on practical skills they can use in their own lives. Each week, we will cover a different topic related to personal finance, including budgeting, investing, entrepreneurship, and more. The course is designed to be flexible, with pre-recorded videos and homework assignments that can be completed at a time that is convenient for each learner. By the end of the course, students will have a solid understanding of how to build wealth and manage their finances like a pro! Week 5: Taxes Overview of different types of taxes (income tax, sales tax, property tax, etc.) Taxation systems and structures Tax planning and strategies for individuals and businesses Understanding tax deductions and credits Week 6: Currency Exchange Rates Basics of foreign exchange markets Factors influencing currency exchange rates Exchange rate systems (fixed, floating, pegged, etc.) Impact of exchange rates on international trade and travel Week 7: Cryptocurrencies Introduction to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology Key cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) Cryptocurrency mining and transactions Benefits and risks of investing in cryptocurrencies Week 8: How money is made Overview of the money creation process by central banks Fractional reserve banking system Monetary policy and its influence on money supply Role of commercial banks in the lending and money creation process By the end of this course, learners will have a solid understanding of the basics of wealth building and financial literacy. They will have developed practical skills that they can use in their own lives, such as budgeting, investing, and building an investment portfolio. As an educator, my teaching style is adaptive and inclusive, designed to suit learners of all ages. I believe in creating a safe and engaging learning environment where everyone feels comfortable to participate. I adjust my teaching methods and the complexity of the content to match the age and understanding level of my students. This ensures that all learners, regardless of their age, can grasp the concepts, engage in discussions, and benefit from the class. My goal is to make learning an enjoyable and enriching experience for everyone. The flexible schedule (Recorded Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a convenient time to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started). The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week, as part of a project. After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps on how to improve or adapt. Time frame for the Week: Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Students can submit questions. Tuesdays - Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the discussion. Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom for teacher feedback and discussion. Students will discuss it among themselves. Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students. Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week. Please note: This course requires no prior experience. *For parents/families who feel their child would benefit from this course, but their budget does not allow for it, I do offer a number of discounts for families of lower income.
