During each class, students will be asked comprehension and recall questions and will be able to volunteer answers.Class Experience
We will be reading the book #2 Flat Stanley: Invisible Stanley by Jeff Browns. During each class, everyone will take a turn reading out loud, including me. While reading the chapters, we will discuss what was read. This will build reading comprehension. Before starting a new chapter, we will review what was read previously. I will share my screen during each class so that we can read the book together. If you haven't read the first Flat Stanley book, that is okay. While there are references to the previous books, each book can be read without having to read the previous books. "Disappearing act One morning, after a terrible storm, Stanley Lambchop is nowhere to be found. His family can hear him, and there is a lump under his covers, but no one can find him! Just where is that boy? Then they discover the truth -- Stanley is invisible! At first, Stanley is very busy. There's so much for an invisible boy to do. But will he stay that way forever?"
Learning Goals
Students will improve their reading comprehension and fluency skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
New York Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hi! I'm a certified educator hailing from New York with a Master's in Special Education and a Bachelor's in Childhood Education. With experience across all elementary grades, I currently nurture young minds in first grade. Transitioning to distance learning, I leveraged Zoom to teach reading, math, science, social studies, and conduct engaging class meetings from March to June. Despite missing face-to-face interactions, I fostered connections through inventive activities like pet/stuffed animal show and tell, phonics-based scavenger hunts, and guided drawing sessions, ensuring learning remained enjoyable.
I designed and executed an enriching year-long fairy tale curriculum, exploring multicultural and traditional tales from various perspectives, nurturing critical thinking among students. I thrive on building lasting relationships with my students and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet you!
