In this class your student will learn how to recognize fingerspelling and produce it. (Receptive skills and production) I like my classes to be student led, so we may have some discussion as we progress. It will depend on the student and how many students are in each class. There will be no power points used, but the teacher may post practice clips from Youtube for the students to watch. Your student should be able to recognize the alphabet and produce it smoother than before they started the course.
They should be practicing the alphabet outside of class. The teacher can post Youtube videos of age appropriate videos to practice fingerspelling.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Your student will receive an informal assessment with a hypothetical letter grade.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
