Filling in the Gaps - 1:1 Personalized Mini-Lessons (2 Day Ongoing Class - 30 Min)

How does your child measure up with other students their age? Are they ready for the next grade? Is there a skill that is challenging or frustrating for them? 

In this ongoing class, you will give me a specific area to work on, or we can play games to find areas of weakness. I will gently and patiently work with your child to become confident in this skill with games and challenges. Working one on one will allow me to cater to your child’s learning style and strengths. We will begin to build a relationship of encouragement and trust which will lead to openness to learning and building self-esteem! I will use fun strategies to address the chosen skill. Your child will look forward to class each day!  Isn’t it exciting to hear your child say with pride “Look what I can do?”

*Day 1 - We will visit and learn a little about each other, then I will assess their level with fun skill games.  The parent may choose a skill for us to work on, or I can give a general assessment to discover skills that may need improvement. I can assess literacy skills, math comprehension, or spelling. We can work on handwriting, following directions, reading fluency or reading comprehension. You will need to choose one skill in one subject area to begin with so we do not choose something too broad to cover in our short period of time.

*Day 2 - Let’s get to work! We will learn with songs, games, projects, speed races, there are so many ways to have fun learning! The lessons will be created specifically for your child’s ability and personality! If your child is confident in the skill we were working on, I will move on to the next logical skill to build on their learning. No minute will be wasted!

I will also follow up with my observations and suggestions on how to continue learning in this area.  

We will continue this pattern throughout the school year. Each week will be unique and adapted just for you! I ask that you book at least a day before so I have time to prep for your specific needs. I offer this class in a 2 day, 3 day, 4 day or ongoing format. Let me know if another format would work better for you!
