In this classical Ballet workshop, students will learn about the history, hype, and how-to of famous advanced steps in classical Ballet. During our time together we will focus on the following advanced coordinations/moves: fouettés and Italian fouettés, entrechat quatre and entrechat six, and entrelace/grand jete en tournant. Students will be introduced to intermediate and advanced coordinations in this workshop. By the end of our time together they should have a good grasp on the origins and mechanics of some advanced movement, as well as the tools they need to practice and perform them!
No homework will be assigned for this class, however it is recommended to stay active and practice any terminology and movement learned in our time together for further advancement.
- Comfortable clothes you can move and stretch in - Socks or ballet slippers - A chair, counter, or sturdy surface to hold on to for barre work, about waist height - An open space to dance in safely, at least a 4 ft by 4 ft square - Water bottle - Notebook and pen
If the student desires further assessment outside of class time, please direct any questions to me following class.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please contact me in advance if you have any health or safety concerns for your learner. In this class we will move at a moderate to fast pace together, monitoring our physical activity safely. Please make sure you have sufficient, clear space for this class to be as safe as possible while dancing.
