Class Experience

Welcome to the Ballet! At the Ballet: Classical Ballet Dance Class will introduce your dancer to several age appropriate Classical Ballets. I will share a brief overview of what that day's ballet is about, and learners will get to share something they know related to the ballet. We will practice age appropriate dance movement, and use those moves to perform a dance to a song from the ballet!

Each class begins with the teacher sharing a brief overview of the day's ballet.
Then learners will get to share something related to the ballet - such as what they know about Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, what their favorite sweet is, or if they have ever gotten to see a ballet, etc.
We will then move into a warm up and stretch on the floor.
Next we will stand up and begin across the floor and center floor where we will learn ballet dance movement and terminology.
We will end class with performing a beautiful dance to a classical ballet song!
As always, if there is time at the end of class we may share one more time, or we will play a Princess themed game or Freeze dance.

*Schedule will continuously cycle back to the beginning after completion. *

Parental Guidance
Please create a space that is open and large enough for your dancer to move, dance, jump and glide without bumping into things. Learners should wear comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. Ballet attire is encourage, but not required. Learners should either wear ballet shoes or have bare feet. Please no socks, as dancers can easily slip while wearing them. Dancers may have a water bottle nearby, and take a sip when needed. Please help your learner know how to mute and unmute themselves. There could be times during the class when this skill is needed. Please know that the teacher may mute learners as needed. Due to the nature of the class, if your learner joins class late, the teacher will let them in at the earliest possible moment that does not disturb class.
