Welcome to the Ballet! At the Ballet: Classical Ballet Dance Class will introduce your dancer to several age appropriate Classical Ballets. I will share a brief overview of what that day's ballet is about, and learners will get to share something they know related to the ballet. Then learners will...
Each class dancers will learn a little about the ballet of the day, learn ballet movement, technique and terminology. Possible movements include, but are not limited to: plie, tondue, 5 positions of the feet, releve, port de bras, posse, pique, degage, grand battement, chaine, saute, eschappe, glissade, arabesques, chasse, bourree, assemble, leaps and more. We will practice balance, flexibility, and coordination skills. Most of all we will have FUN!
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please create a space that is open and large enough for your dancer to move, dance, jump and glide without bumping into things. Learners should wear comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. Ballet attire is encourage, but not required. Learners should either wear ballet shoes or have bare feet. Please no socks, as dancers can easily slip while wearing them. Dancers may have a water bottle nearby, and take a sip when needed. Please help your learner know how to mute and unmute themselves. There could be times during the class when this skill is needed. Please know that the teacher may mute learners as needed. Due to the nature of the class, if your learner joins class late, the teacher will let them in at the earliest possible moment that does not disturb class.
