Let's use Minecraft to master communication skills! In this conversation-based class, we will review appropriate ways to agree and disagree with hilarious examples acted out by the teacher. We will have a great time in a facilitated discussion covering topics related to Minecraft, the things we love, and the things we wish we could change. We will focus on respectful exchanges and advanced repeat students may even be given the opportunity for a short conversational debate. As the rules of polite conversation dictate, all students will have an opportunity to express themselves. It is so much fun to watch students share about something that they are passionate about. Practicing appropriate conversation skills with peers is critical. Many of the issues I have seen over the years as a school counselor involve a breakdown in communication. Let's practice these necessary skills by talking about something you love! The skills will remain the same but the conversations will always be different so you can repeat this class as often as you want!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify appropriate and inappropriate conversational behaviors. Students will also practice appropriate conversational skills.
