Weekly Writers Workshop: Minecraft Edition | Creative Writing Class

This class is taught in English.

Each week, students participate in a mini-lesson designed to teach them different strategies and techniques that will sharpen their writing skills. Learners will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned by writing independently in response to various prompts. This way, students learn and immediately apply different writing principles, piece by piece, as they develop their writing skills. Students will also develop and improve their public speaking skills as they share their work with the class. 

I have nearly a decade of teaching experience in various settings. I've taught in the brick-and-mortar setting as well as online. Writing is a topic that I am personally passionate about.  While working in the brick-and-mortar school setting, I would frequently work 1:1 with special needs students to help them become better writers and accomplish the goals outlined in their IEP's. 

My degrees/certifications are: 
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education
• Bachelors degree in Elementary Education

There is no assigned homework for this class. However, students are encouraged to work on their stories as time allows. Students may also send me their writing after class to provide more detailed and in-depth feedback for improvement. I'm happy to work with learners/parents outside of class time.
