Let's explore animals from the jungle and learn French! In this one-time class, students will learn 8 different jungle animals in French through voice variation and repetition all while coloring! Incorporating a fun hands-on activity provides an opportunity for the student to be creative all while learning new French words. This is a beginner level French class and extremely introductory so no prior French knowledge is needed. Please note that some instructions will be given in English. Students will have the opportunity to learn and identify basic greetings & simple words in French. Class will begin with introductions. We will start by learning basic greetings so that the students can introduce themselves in French. We will then jump into a powerpoint presentation where students will be introduced to the different jungle animals through pictures and visuals. This will involve a lot of student interaction through speaking & repetition. Below is an example of the class structure: - [Introductions] : “Bonjour, je m’appelle ______.” (“Hello, My name is______.”) - [Repetition] of target vocabulary (animal name) through visuals and pictures - [Question & Answer] I will first model the question : “Que vois-tu?” (“What do you see?”) the student will then answer “Je vois un(e) ____” (“I see a ______”) Once we have introduced the jungle animals we will then start coloring! I will provide a worksheet where we will write each of the animal’s name in French and color in the animals. This will also give the student an opportunity to learn colors in French as well. Students will come prepared with the printed worksheet which I will provide, and their own crayons or markers and ready to learn and have fun! Students are also encouraged to repeat the names of the animals and colors in French as they are coloring throughout the class. Repetition for language learning is essential and will play a huge role in this class. Learning a new language can be overwhelming for new learners, the purpose of this class is to make language learning fun, in a relaxed & creative atmosphere so that students can be comfortable all while learning French.
Learning Goals
Students will learn 8 different jungle animals as well as colors in French through voice variation and repetition all while coloring.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from The College of New Jersey
Hello! Bonjour! I was born and raised in Switzerland until I was 10 years old. I grew up in a bilingual family where we spoke both English and French. I have a 2 year old son that I am teaching French as well. Because of my background, I understand the importance of learning a new language at such an early age.
I also come from an artistic background. My mother is a children’s book illustrator so art runs in my blood. I love speaking French and I love art and I want my classes to incorporate my love for both! I received my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a concentration in Economics. I have been teaching English as a Second language online since 2018 and have taught thousands of classes to my young Chinese students. I am a also a hiring-help mentor for future teachers in the ESL teaching community. Additionally, I have tutored a variety of subjects including, English and French. I am so excited to use our creativity and learn French at the same time. I can’t wait to draw and learn French with you!
