Class Experience

In this weekly class, students will learn different colors, shapes, body parts and numbers in French through voice variation and repetition all while drawing! Incorporating a fun hands-on activity provides an opportunity for the student to be creative all while learning new French words.

This is a beginner level French class and extremely introductory so no prior French knowledge is needed. Please note that some instructions will be given in English . Students will have the opportunity to learn and identify new French words every week including basic greetings. Class will begin with introductions. We will start by learning basic greetings so that the students can introduce themselves in French. We will then jump into a powerpoint presentation where students will be introduced to either colors, shapes, body parts and numbers through pictures and visuals. This will involve a lot of student interaction through speaking & repetition.

Once we have introduced the new topic we will then start drawing! Each week we will draw something different and students will be shown step by step how to draw certain items as well as discuss the topic we just learned:

****New drawings will be added each week but the 4 topics (colors, shapes, body parts & numbers) will remain the same and we will rotate those 4 topics every week so that new students can join anytime without having to catch up on previous material. I will provide a vocabulary worksheet of all the new French vocabulary we learned for each class so that learners can practice at home *****

Learning a new language can be overwhelming for new learners, the purpose of this class is to make language learning fun, in a relaxed & creative atmosphere so that the students can be comfortable all while learning French.

Hello! Bonjour! I was born and raised in Switzerland until I was 10 years old. I grew up in a bilingual family where we spoke both English and French. I have a 2 year old son that I am teaching French as well. Because of my background, I understand the importance of learning a new language at such an early age.

I also come from an artistic background. My mother is a children’s book illustrator so art runs in my blood. I love speaking French and I love art and I want my classes to incorporate my love for both! I received my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a concentration in Economics. I have been teaching English as a Second language online since 2018 and have taught thousands of classes to my young Chinese students. I am a also a hiring-help mentor for future teachers in the ESL teaching community. Additionally, I have tutored a variety of subjects including, English and French. I am so excited to use our creativity and learn French at the same time. I can’t wait to draw and learn French with you!
