45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Beginning with story time, I will read "The Magic School Bus with the Butterfly and the Bog Beast: A book about Butterfly Camouflage." Then with a mimicry and camouflage video clip before we examine the science of animal camouflage. We will discuss what camouflage is and why it is important. The students will then create their own camouflage butterflies using cardstock paper, tissue paper, construction paper or other craft items you may have on hand. PDFs will be provided before class. Finally, I will provide a Can You Find the Camouflaged Animal enrichment activity for after class to continue the study of animal camouflage. This is a great introduction into animal camouflage, or a good review, for anyone who needs it.

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
