Homework
Read, experience, investigate and question! While homework will not be officially assigned, I will be encouraging outside discoveries of science. Whether the student is reading for school, reading science fiction, or reading scientific non-fiction, the continued practice of reading and logical questioning is crucial.Class Experience
I am a licensed elementary and HS history educator with multi-grade level experience with the sciences of the natural world around us, the human body and its systems, earth science, astronomy and physical sciences. I will hone in on the necessary skills for a complete understanding of the scientific concepts. Science begins with a question and I am here to answer those questions so that more questions may be asked. Why is the sky blue and the grass green? What is the rocky cycle? Why shouldn't we eat hamburgers every day of the year? Where is Orion and why is he important? How does a bicycle work? And much, much more! Working with the parent, we will establish goals for the student. Whether those specific goals be Life Science, Earth Science, Physics, Astronomy or something specific the parent requests. In this one-on-one class, the student will receive the individualized instruction for the student's specific needs to succeed. Examples of Life Science including, but not limited to, the following: Classifications, Animals, Plants, Traits, Adaptations, Heredity, Human Body and Ecosystems. Examples of Earth Science including, but not limited to, the following: Rocks & Minerals, Fossils, Weather & Climate, Earth's Features, and Earth Events. Examples of Physical Science including, but not limited to, the following: States of Matter, Phase Change, Heat & Thermal Energy, Physical & Chemical Change, Mixtures, Force & Motion, Electricity, and Magnets. Examples of Astronomy including, but not limited to, the following: Solar Systems, Constellations, Stars, Planets & Moons. I will utilize paper materials (PDF will be delivered to you ahead of time), books (hard copy, E-reader, or other online source), music and songs, and YouTube video clips. I will quickly access prior knowledge and build from there. I would be happy to answer any of your questions and/or concerns; please feel free to message me. I look forward to helping you and your child succeed!

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom; substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level; assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. I have a bachelor's of education and a master's of American History with a concentration in Native American studies.
