Other Details
Supply List
Excel software, preferably in MAC Office or Windows. The latest version of Excel includes the Windows icons as well. All students are asked what software they have and if they can see the particular icons on my shared screen. I show both ways to get each function done when needed. There are limits to what can be mastered using Google docs.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
(Taking temporary break from Outschool)
I am a certified elementary school teacher who is best at teaching kindergarten through fourth grade curriculum in reading, writing, math and science. I possess an MA degree in Elementary Education.
It is my philosophy and experience that all children learn differently and at different paces. It is up to the teacher to find each student's zone of proximal development and start instruction from there. As well, it is best to chunk information into steps or manageable bites to digest so-to-speak. I believe most children can learn if their abilities and their stumbling blocks are taken into consideration. In fact, the stumbling blocks, show us where to begin our lessons!
I have published four children's books and written screenplays on the middle two. Both screenplays have won quarterfinalist placing in contests and one placed as a Top 10 Screenplay at the WildSound Family and Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. Through entry into the New Voices in Animation Festival, I am now a member of Stage 32 (a network of film industry professionals and a source for webinars on how to improve your craft and marketing strategies).
