Homework will be answering discussion questions in the classroom and developing an Etsy shop. Learners will discuss assignments through discussion in the classroom. They'll post videos or project slides to evaluate shops and their performances. How they can improve using the information they have learned. Students will have the opportunity to be fully engaged with each other through short lessons.Class Experience

Note: This is a Flex class. There are no live meetings. With Over 10 years of experience as an Etsy business owner and 6 years on the outschool platform teaching learners how to become entrepreneurs as an etsy shop owner. This class is all your learner needs to learn the ins and outs of becoming a young Etsy shop owner. Etsy is one of the fastest-growing eCommerce websites. The store focuses on handmade and or vintage items and crafts. In this class, learners will learn how to create and manage their own Etsy store. This is a flex class and will not meet live. We will have discussion questions posted in the classroom. Students will be able to discuss the weekly topic with each other. My teaching style is to get students involved by discussing the topic and asking questions. I will interact with each student by posting lecture videos using slides, video clips, and discussion questions. Students will be able to submit videos of themselves discussing why they feel certain Etsy shops stand out as opposed to others. Students will also have the opportunity to comment on the videos. Each week students will discuss what can certain shops do to improve their stores and the store's traffic. Discussion questions and class lecture videos using Nearpod.com. Students will be able to discuss the topic and engage in the discussion with other learners through Nearpod.com. Students will have the opportunity to be fully engaged with each other through short lessons. Day 1: How to develop a moneymaking product. Students will research the website to find items that sell best and compare and contrast. Day 2: How to take captivating pictures. Learners will research items on the website and submit pictures of their items to the classroom page. Day 3: Writing the perfect product description How to keep track of your shop's inventory using Excel and pricing. Day 4:Branding your shop and marketing your business. Students will research the best ways to promote their items and stores. Subjects covered: Basic eCommerce, economics, marketing, and excel.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to create and manage a successful Etsy shop. Learners will use Etsy to research different items and stores to get ideas and create a plan to establish their own shops.

What is Etsy.com? How to create an Account and Creating a Catchy Store front name.
Lesson 2:
Importance of Logos Graphics & Photos
Learners will learn how to take effective photos for their items and creating a store logo and background.
Lesson 3:
Inventory & Pricing
Learners will research other stores that sell items that they will be selling and pricing their items. They'll learn about pricing and creating descriptions for each item. Learners will use Excel or Google Sheets to track their inventory.
Lesson 4:
Identifying Your Niche
Understanding niche markets: Discuss the concept of niche markets and why they are important on Etsy.
