Students are expected to review their songs throughout the week. This will enable progress to happen as I will provide individualized feedback to help your learner understand the songs. Students will also have periodic theory which can be posted to the classroom or sent directly to Ms. Diana as well.Class Experience
Easy Beginning Piano (Later Beginner) PART 1 A version for the older beginner of the popular “Primer Piano Adventures” course (check reviews here: https://outschool.com/classes/primer-part-1-piano-adventure-beginner-course-practice-videos-free-workbook-qD1Wuy5V). Each week, we'll work through a new concept and song (sometimes 2). We'll work in this order: Song analysis Tutorial Slow practice Performance opportnities Learners are encouraged to participate in sharing during the class. This will be the best opportunity to make consistent progress as I provide feedback that is specific to each student. A practice guide will also be included with access to special Practice Videos to guide students through their studies. If a class is missed, they will be provided a video to follow along with. Weekly time playing through their songs is encouraged to make progress and build confidence in their playing. Learners will need: A keyboard (61 keys minimum) A keyboard stand (sturdy enough for their keyboard to balance) Their music A pencil Each week, learners will review 2-3 songs together. Here is a weekly breakdown of what they will cover: Week 1: Finger Numbers, Basic Rhythm, "Exploring 2nds and Exploring 3rds" Week 2: The Staff, Middle C, and Treble G "My Invention" Week 3: Guide Notes, Reading Up and Down the Staff "Scenic Train Ride" Week 4: Legato "Roman Trumpets" Week 5: Bass G "Chant of the Moon" Week 6: Bass B and Bass A "Planetarium" Week 7: Reading Skips "Midnight Ride" Week 8: Quarter Rest "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" The final class will be our "performance" opportunity. Students will be able to share 2 of their favorite songs during class. This will be the closing opportunity for the final class as well as their "graduation" to the next level: At this level, students are encouraged to keep their camera on in order for me to provide feedback. However, if for any reason they are not comfortable doing so, that is also okay. They are, however, required to show their face at the beginning of each class for a safety check.
