I will give verbal feedback to students during their daily class as well as following classes as needed. I will also message you individually as I want to keep you, as the parent or guardian, aware of how your child is doing in class. This is a team effort in being sure your child is getting the most out of their time in piano class.Class Experience
This is a Fun + Interactive Camp that will have your children playing piano in no time designed for the beginner piano student ages 7-11 years old. This is the introductory version of my popular “Part 1: Introductory Piano Adventure Beginner Course" for those interested in "trying it out" before committing to the 8-week course. Your learner will have a fun time as they are introduced to the wonderful world of: P I A N O! This will be 1 WEEK ONLY (Monday-Thursday)! We’ll work together to learn basic piano skills, learn new songs as well as finish each week with an ESCAPE ROOM and a final GRADUATION! We will cover the basics: - Posture - Hand Position - Notes on the piano - Rhythm - Music Vocabulary - Reading basic music Class 1: Introduce ourselves "Intro Piano Adventure Part I" Hand Position Posture Black Keys Class 2: Quarter note Black Key Songs Class 3: Half note White Keys CDE Class 4: Whole note White Keys FGAB Class Performance of their favorite pieces! Presentation of Part 1 completion certificates BONUS: ODE TO JOY: Tutorial provided by Ms. Diana The course is structured around the concept that children learn music through immersion! We will first discuss the songs as they use "visual analysis" in understanding what is happening in the music. Students will then be given the opportunity to hear me play to model how their pieces go, play along with me (while muted), then perform it if they feel comfortable doing so. In the community I create within each class, these brave students are EXCITED to perform for one another. We honestly have the best time! Check out the review for “Part 1: Piano Adventures” for reference. The great part is, I use a book that they will be able to keep as they journey forward in their future classes if and when they so choose. I look forward to journeying along with your camper this summer! Feel free to reach out and message me through Outschool if you have any questions! XO, Ms. Diana

Other Details
Parental Guidance
1. I must be able to see your child at the piano to assist them with the pieces. An example of the camera position will be posted in the "Classroom" before the first class begins.
2. Music: must either be Printed or used with "Faber Piano Adventures Primer Lesson Book" (link found in materials)
3. I do ask that parents stay close by our learners for the first 2-3 lessons to ensure your child has the best possible start to their classes - as well as avoid any issues with technology in using Zoom or their keyboards.
4. I will communicate with you through the conversation part of Outschool! I like to celebrate as well as keep parents + guardians aware of the happenings in class to ensure we can work together to provide the best experience possible for your child!
IMPORTANT: Students MUST have their camera on the entire time.
This is for:
1. The safety of all students.
2. For me to guide your child through their pieces best. Without being able to see them, it is not possible to assist them in playing to the best of their ability.
3. Please be sure that the camera has the student and piano in view. Again, this will allow for me to better help your child perform their best to correct any technique or questions accurately!
Also, parents I ask that you please sit with and observe your child for at least the first 4 weeks to help guide our young learners, that their camera's are set up properly, and so they are able to have you there to work out any issues that may arise.
