1 hour per week. This class can be customized! Upon request, I am happy to provide additional assignments to deepen students' understanding of any (or all) artists we study.

Assessment

I have experience writing assessments for students enrolled in umbrella homeschool programs and those who simply desire an assessment for their records. Just let me know what you need and I will happily oblige!

Certificate of Completion

All students will earn a certificate of completion at the conclusion of this modern art history primer (certificates of completion available for all art genre primer courses).

Class Experience

This class is a 4 week primer on some of the most well-known modern artists of all time. 

Over the course, students will learn about Pablo Picasso, Jackson Polluck, Yayoi Kusama, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and will complete frame-worthy and memorable art projects in each artists' signature style. 

I am a warm, interactive teacher happy to meet students where they are. Artistic skill is not a prerequisite to my courses...each week's art project is an opportunity for self-expression and a chance to deepen students' understanding of that week's spotlighted artist. Active participation is always encouraged but always optional, and my classes tend to involve a great deal of laughter and levity. Learning should be fun!

Supply List

All classes will require paper, a pencil with eraser, a black marker/Sharpie, and coloring supplies of choice. When one coloring supply is preferred over another for a specific project/week, I will be sure to let students know beforehand.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Each week, we'll explore multiple original works by the spotlight artist and read their quotes about life, philosophy, and art.
