Week 1Lesson 1Waterton Lakes National ParkThis course provides an in-depth look at the natural beauty and historical significance of Waterton Lakes National Park. Students will engage with the park’s history, wildlife, key locations, and environmental conservation efforts through a combination of lecture, discussion, and interactive activities.
This class is taught in English.
By the end of this flex course, students will have a well-rounded understanding of Waterton Lakes National Park, including its history, key landmarks, and local wildlife. They will also gain insights into basic principles of environmental conservation. Through a variety of interactive materials like videos, slides, and worksheets, learners will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and engage in discussions to enhance their learning experience. The course aims to not only educate but also to instill a sense of environmental stewardship, encouraging students to be mindful of nature in their future outdoor adventures.
As your instructor for this course, I bring a unique blend of professional and personal expertise to the table. In my professional life, I serve as a Data Scientist and a Professor, skills that equip me to create an engaging and educational curriculum. On the personal front, I am an avid outdoor adventurer who has traveled to over 40 countries. My passion for nature, hiking, and exploration has led me to discover a multitude of landscapes and ecosystems. This lived experience enriches the course content, making it both informative and relatable. I look forward to sharing this journey with you as we explore Waterton Lakes National Park and delve into the wonders of nature together.
