The fruit cultivated from great conversation in micro situations can feed into the macro scale of our school, university and work life. Therefore, I have formulated a class focused around the great art of conversation. There is a great paradox surrounding great conversationalists. People think they talk more then they speak, but verily I can attest to you that it is quite the opposite. A great conversationalist has very distinct characteristics like listening, evaluating and posing the right questions to elicit great fruit from the conversation. Wherefore, in this class, we will be focusing on pragmatically building listening skills, through discussions, evaluating through situational judgement and question formulation for optimum results. The topics chosen will be neutral/secular. I encourage all experience levels and ages to join because I believe there is a fruitful conversation to be cultivated from all. Each class will involve me choosing two to three secular conversational topics beforehand. The students and I will have a free flowing conversation for half the class time. Thereafter, we will analyse, the content derived from it, thus testing listening skills. We will also look at question formulation, the use of verbal, as well as non-verbal language and I will provide constructive feedback to build upon. As a result, students will learn how to confidently engage in conversation, enhance their verbal and non-verbal communication and elicit the desired information from interactions. Due to discussions about the importance of non-verbal communication and verbal interactions in the conversational classes, it is imperative to have your camera on. Please subscribe only if you are able and comfortable to interact with your camera on. Outschool policy doesn't require cameras to be on past the verification stage. However, as per this particular conversational class format, it is required to have your camera on for the full duration of class. Moreover, as this is an ongoing class, I will aim to keep it rolling each week. However, please keep in mind that due to family obligations, postgraduate studies, the Covid-19 crisis etc, unfortunately, this may not always be possible and I may need to cancel sections. If a section is to be cancelled I will aim to do it in advance, preferably before the beginning of the respective week the class is scheduled to take place. Please note: •As there is significant preparation made before each session, there will be no refunds for unattended classes. Special consideration will be made in some circumstances if communicated before the session begins. •Feel free to utilise the classroom recording, if you miss a session. If there is a single student booked in for the class, unfortunately, there will be no content to review. Thanks and looking forward to meeting you
Learning Goals
Students will gain an understanding of the proper etiquette to adopt in order to engage in fruitful conversation. Through the techniques and methodologies we will explore, the students will learn how to build up skills for listening, analysing and speaking, in order to become critical thinkers and engage with the objective of fruitful interaction. These skills can carry forth into micro and macro interactions they may have in life.

Teacher expertise and credentials
2 Degrees
Master's Degree in Science from University of Derby
Bachelor's Degree from Davenport University
I am extremely pleased to have qualified with a high honour Bachelors degree in Business before completing my Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Science. During the programs I was able to successfully complete relevant modules, such as, 'Presentation Techniques', 'Practitioner Development', 'Diversity in Society' and 'Field experience in Business'. These modules gave me comprehensive overview of presentation etiquette, debating techniques and powerful public speaking experience. I have also received a certificate for my performance in 'The Project' competition, hosted by the West Michigan Chapter of Project Management Institute for representing my university(Davenport University). The competition allowed me to present in front of a panellist of professional judges and opposition universities within Michigan. I have done a variety of speeches around the world, interacted with various institutional leaders, presented to senior directors in multinational companies, such as Wincanton and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences. I also possess a TEFL certificate which has helped me attain the opportunity to work on a number of online platforms focused around building english conversational skills. I am very appreciative and empathetic when it comes to interacting with different levels of students and adopt a bespoke communication style for the different personalities, in order to enhance their learning experience.
