This hands-on, four-part flex lesson introduces the learner to Microsoft Excel. This class will present the excel screen, excel terminology, rows, columns, sheet tabs, formatting cells and cell ranges, simple formulas, converting cells to formulas, simple functions, the fill handle, merge and center and more. This is the first segment of the Excel portion of the technology applications class that I taught in middle school for 20 years. I wrote the curriculum based on skill requirements set by the state of Texas. The Excel portion is divided into two basic parts. • Week 1 – Excel screen, terminology, rows, columns, sheet tabs, active cell • Week 2 – Formatting cells, cell ranges (contiguous and non-contiguous • Week 3 – Simple formulas, convert to formula, cell styles, sort, format numbers • Week 4 – Simple functions, fill handle, merge and center, wrap text, text orientation Needed for this class: Prerequisite: None Computer with video, sound and document saving capability, newer version of Microsoft Excel (2019 or Office 365) preferred
Learning Goals
The learner will gain a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel program so they can use it to perform tasks.
