The four-lesson hands-on class introduces learners to: the parts of the Microsoft Word screen, ribbon, commands, icons, character formatting, copy and paste, borders and shading, alignment, print orientation, selecting text and others. This class includes worksheets for learners to complete either in class or as homework. This is a segment of the technology applications class that I taught in middle school for 20 years. I wrote the curriculum based on skill requirements set by the state of Texas. The Word portion is divided into two basic parts. The learners will create documents with me in this hands-on experience. Lesson 1 – Word screen, icons, groups and tabs Lesson 2 – Learning the ribbon, discovering what’s under the tabs, dialogue box launcher Lesson 3 – Character formatting, spacing, selecting text, bullets and numbers Lesson 4 – Columns, setting tabs Needed for this class: Computer with video, sound and document saving capability, newer version of Microsoft Word (2019 or Office 365),
