Learners will explore the beautiful and historical world of cross-stitching. This medium can be used for home decor from pillows to tapestries. Cross stitch can also be used for adding details to your clothing. It's fun and relaxing and there is no end to how creative you can be! I will lead a discussion from the historical aspects of samplers to the modern creative uses that run the gamut of creativity. I will give patterns and info in a HANDOUT that students can choose to make and start while in class. They can ask questions and share their work.
Learning Goals
How to start a project ("tieing in") and how to read a pattern.
They will learn how to make the stitch- being careful to go in the same direction!
Learn how to "count" your stitches and colors.
How to "tie off".
