Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
This one-time class is focused entirely on cross-cultural dialogue: understanding what it is, why it matters, and how to engage in it effectively.

Through a teacher-led presentation, students will explore the key principles of cross-cultural communication, including how to approach conversations with respect, openness, and understanding of diverse perspectives.

After the presentation, students will participate in an interactive game that reinforces these skills in a fun, engaging way.

Additionally, students will complete a worksheet that helps them reflect on the material and practice applying it in real-life situations.

Optional reading and worksheets will be provided for students to continue their learning after class.

This class is designed to be a quick, engaging introduction to preparing students for difficult conversations and pairs well as a starting point with other social justice topics covered in my other classes.

Learning Goals

Understand Cross-Cultural Dialogue: Students will learn the key components of cross-cultural dialogue and why it’s important in today’s diverse world.
Practice Respectful Communication: Students will develop skills for engaging in open, respectful conversations with people from different backgrounds.
