In this course, students will explore and create their own hero and their hero's journey! Students will be able to jolt their creativity into hyperdrive all the while following the structure of the archetypical monolith: The Hero's Journey! This course will cover the creative writing process, creative methods to develop heroic characters, and the narrative structure of the hero's journey. Lastly, we will present our finished products to the class! How is this course structured? We will...
Students will create their own heroic character. Students will write a narrative based on the hero's journey. Students will present their finished heroic journey to their classmates! Students will rehearse and practice writing conventions through writing a heroic narrative.
Students will be assigned writing assignments in between classes to finish individually. Students will have less than an hour of homework assigned in between classes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students' final product will not be formally assessed. However, students will get written feedback on their final product from their teacher.
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
