Class Experience

We will learn how to generate new writing. We will cover how to find ideas and trust them and discover 'free-writing'. We will learn how to trust ourselves to express what we want and how we want.

Week of Feb 4th: Topic/Theme 1: Plot/Story and what happens

⇢ Week of Feb 11th: Topic/Theme 2: Characters and Narrators

⇢ Week of Feb 18th: Topic/Theme 3: Setting and context

⇢ Week of Feb 25th: Topic/Theme 4: Style and how we want to add more details to our stories

Each meeting will start with a short conversation about what we are each writing in our own time, a short story, a poem, homework etc. Then I will offer a variety of prompts, visual, audio and text based. I encourage you to write the first draft without editing, then share the short piece with each other and we will then give feedback on what we loved, where we got lost in the story, and what we want more of.
Together we will create a living document of prompts to take home and use as you wish.
